Laura has been an intensivist at Middlemore Hospital since 2009 and is the ICU lead for burns, education and organ donation. She has developed clinical pathways for adult and paediatric burns patients and is actively involved in teaching nurses and doctors about caring for critically ill burns patients.
Laura also works as a donation specialist at Organ Donation NZ. Her role involves providing clinical advice for the ICU teams, liaising with the transplant services and promoting organ and tissue donation. She developed the NZ Donation Awareness Course and travels throughout N.Z teaching clinical staff and finding ways to support donation.
Laura is a self-proclaimed expert in juggling two jobs, a husband, a child, a cat, family and friends whilst loving all of them (most of the time)!
