Paediatric burns patients are at increased risk of VTE due to the massive inflammatory changes that occur with the burn injury, the need for long term central venous access, as well as other risk factors.

At Middlemore Hospital we developed a VTE prevention guideline specifically for paediatric burn patients using enoxaparin titrated to anti-Xa levels.

This presentation will review the evidence used to design this guideline.
