Sonja SMHJ Scholten
Sonja Scholten-Jaegers has studied Human Movement Science and Medicine. After her study she first worked in a Rehabilitation Centre. In 2001 she finished her specialisation as an emergency docter and worked in the emergency room and ICU of the Wilhelmina Hospital in Assen. In 2007 she started to work in the Burn Centre of the Martini Hospital in Groningen. What she find important is that burn care should not only be focused on wound healing and scars, but also on the recovery of the physical, emotional and social functioning of burn patients and on their reintegration in the society close to the level before the accident.
