Jeffrey E Carter
Dr. Carter is a Professor of Surgery at LSUHSC in New Orleans. He trained in General Surgery at Wake Forest University with fellowships in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care and burn care at UNC Chapel Hill. He specialized in applied learning and healthcare design with a third fellowship at Wake Forest before joining as faculty. In 2017 he started the verified burn center in New Orleans at University Medical Center and grew the burn research program to over $100 million. He serves on several boards overseeing prehospital care and burn care. His clinical and research interests predominately focus on education and developing innovative technologies that improve value through patient access, advancements in patient care, and macroeconomics.
